Too bad its rigged if the statistics on your site is correct (Blinks played/blinks won)
One must understand statistical theories before attempting to apply them. |

hehe - I think Rep234 just squeezed this one on the boards a few minutes after the world ended (oh wait, it didn't end! At least not for my family - we hope the same is true for all.) Anyway, I think Rep234 was wanting to give future archeologists a puzzle to solve once they found the Blink server - as if the eve server would not be puzzling enough for future archeologists in trying to figure out what this ancient society was like.... Think about the poor archeologists who find the WoW and Hello Miss Kitty servers. They will be as clueless about this society as the poster above is about blink stats!

Babar Baboli wrote:If I win the current minibonk, I will start a blog to salute all of you in Cognitive Distortion! Think about it!
I thought about it. What i thought was it sounds like a guy who thinks a statement like that will scare everyone at Blink into somehow bestowing a win on you, as the meta message you are sending is that if you DON'T happen to be chosen by Random.org as a winner, you will blog unkind things about Blink.
You may not be be aware that they have had cheesy threats before, lived thru goofy accusations until the would be extortionists got tired of being laughed at.
Yeah, I thought about. Now it is time for you to think about it and how idiotic it sounds, even if it was meant in jest.
Good luck on the draw. |

For me, I don't care if an extinct ship is brought back from the dead, it will have no impact on the value of the only other one. It will be a new piece of history for the ship. Were this happening in real life and a ship became so revered, it would be re-introduced. Players who have played for five years might have only heard of the Gold Magnate for first time today.
I remember when there were so many scammers selling "Gold Magnates" and now there are none so that part of the community, which I'd like to see vanish but is revered by so many, will once again thrive.
The Guardian Vexor might suffer a little downgrade in value but no one will lose anything. Chribba will likely have rare ships to sell to the very few who keep them tucked away in hangars never to be seen again - sort of de facto extinct.
Perhaps it would have been better for CCP to have invented new ships for this exercise, but I seriously don't think that would have assuaged anyone's complaints, just caused them to be re-worded as "new one of a kind ships never to be seen again would be flooding the rare ship market."
About Blink / CCP. I have been aware of some of Blink's community financial support but not to the extent mentioned by the Dev who has access to more figures than I do. The Blink websites don't offer a clue to their extent, but I know they have given ISK to every fleet in past tournaments to help the alliances without isk faucets in their SOV and I know they have been very helpful to Eve-Uni in helping the new player experience. As I understand it, Blink will not have possession of the ships, but winners will receive them from CCP directly. I have no idea how the isk will be divided. I would assume CCP has fixed a price for blink to meet.
I can understand why Blink chose to use their format where players can increase their chance to win by increasing their Blast Credits, which increase with the number of blinks played and won and the level of the blink involved. More blink credit for winning a dread in a blink than for winning a frig for instance. That fits right into Risk for ISK. Had they chosen to do it with their vehicle which gives everyone one chance to win, they would have been flooded with a million alts when their rules are one blink account per person regardless of how many Eve accounts the person has.
I am very glad CCP has recognized a player run operation in Eve in this way and hope they will be able to find other squeaky clean fansites with which to do the same thing.
Fansites for alliances who are heavily or lightly into botting, carry links to sites, or have carried links to sites which do RMT for ships and ISK need to be excluded, in fact removed from Eve or the rules against it need to not just be overlooked for the favored but removed if CCP cannot unemotionally enforce them.
Overall, I think it is a good thing! |

More to people like me because I haven't played blink ever. Somerblink has in 3-4 years not created a shred of content for me that I've ever been able to recognize. I don't hate Somerblink. I didn't mind it before. But when it is using a very underhanded means to achieve an in game advantage and it affects me i'm going to make a case.
And for the record whenever I see something damaging to the game I've spoke out about it regardless of the consequences. If it means arguing with Goons about a bad idea, EVE Uni, the devs, other miscreants or even Somerblink I do. That's not to say i'm never mistaken, all are at times, but there isn't a childish whine or self serving bias here. And no, preventing an entity in the game from violating the rules and spirit of a sandbox is not self serving.
This was not Blink's Idea. CCP Brought it to them on the morning it was introduced. Which third party site would have turned it down? |

Jack Breacher wrote: One question... I put so many tickets in 2 mini bonks and I cant find mine in the minibonk list. Where are they?
You really have to work on plausible deniability. On the crow issue, I stand with the original response - no it does not look odd to anyone who knows how to read the link you provided. You could have said something like, "Seems odd that someone only wins crows with ticket #1. How does he do that? Or you cold have just looked at the bar chart and found that over over 1000 #1 tickets win a blink every day and he happened to have had six which may have spanned several days, but you chose to give it the menacing conspiratorial spin of your orignial post. On the, " One question... I put so many tickets in 2 mini bonks and I cant find mine in the minibonk list. Where are they?" which has now turned into,"The reason why I couldnt find my tickets was that it took ages for it to load on my tablet." Not having enough patience to use the equipment you have is very differis ent from "you put it there, now you can't find it - You want to know where it Communication is a skill which can be learned. Ok problem solved now correct other ppl on this whole thread.
I remember reading the minibonk list question and thinking he is looking in the minibonk list but can't find his tickets. The implication I got from his post was he bought tickets and they are not on the list of tickets. So yeah, I thought he was reporting a sinister event had occurred, that the minibonk winner was chosen and his tickets were not in the hat to be drawn.
So I made a mental note to wait for the typical polite Blink response about the tickets being in the bonk or in a different minibonk than he thought they were in or some other error the poster had made. And then the usual response form the OP thanking Blink and apologizing for having made the error.
Good call, Be'Goode!
